Spanish Halloween Crossword, Image IDs and Vocabulary Reference Students are instructed to: 1. Write the Spanish translation next to each clue 2. Complete the crossword with Spanish words 3. Write a Spanish word under each Halloween image There are 35 clues with words related to Halloween such as candy, witch, moon, black cat, etc.. There are also 15 clip art images to identify. Also included is a word list alphabetized English to Spanish with all the words contained in the crossword. The list contains 2 sets per page for student handouts. This activity makes a great substitute lesson plan because after students complete the crossword, clue translations and image IDs, they can work with partners quizzing each other on Halloween vocabulary from the word list.
Christmas Emergent Reader 2 Booklets VERSION 2 - Each booklet contains 8 pages: the title page with 7 additional pages containing common Christmas words. Suggestions for using the booklets and an assembly instruction page are included. Students first cut, assemble and read the booklet with text and illustrations of words associated with the first Christmas such as the Wise Men, Baby Jesus, manger, Mary and Joseph, etc. They then create their own version using the text only template. Students will have fun sketching these items and will get excited about the season while sharing with their classmates and family members! The illustration version can be projected in class to present, review and practice pronunciation of the Christmas vocabulary words. The text only version can be projected onto the Smart Board and students can draw pictures that correspond to the text.

Spanish Dental Health Month 2 Booklets - El Mes de la Salud Dental - Each booklet contains 8 pages: the title page with 7 additional pages containing common words associated with Dental Health Month such as teeth, dentist, toothbrush, cavity, dental floss,etc. Also included are suggestions for using the booklets and an assembly instruction page. There are 2 similar versions of the booklet included. One uses images of the transitional Hispanic Raton Perez and the other uses images of the tooth fairy. Students first read and cut out the booklet that contains text and illustrations. They then sketch and create their own version using the text only template. The illustration version can be projected in class to present, review and practice pronunciation of the vocabulary. The text only version can be projected onto the Smart Board and students can draw pictures on the Smart Board that correspond to the text.
This download contains: 1. 1 page of 12 summer clothing items and accessories for students to cut and paste, plus a corresponding grid page containing vocabulary words onto which students paste the summer clothing words. 2. 1 page of 12 winter clothing and accessories for students to cut and paste, plus a corresponding grid page containing vocabulary words onto which students paste the winter clothing words. Other activity ideas: Both of the above contain a page with the answer key that can also be projected in class to present and review the clothing vocabulary. The grid pages can be projected and students can make quick clothing sketches on the Smart Board. These pages can also be printed and used as a quick sketch quiz. Spanish Weather and Clothing Skit / Role Play / Speaking Activity - This is a 2-person, 12 line skit featuring weather and clothing vocabulary and phrases. A boy is preparing to go outside and his mother is advising him on what to wear. The skit includes the use of tener que plus infinitive, deber plus infinitive, ir a plus infinitive, and querer plus infinitive. Other verbs include encantar, llevar, tomar, estar, divertirse, vestirse, jugar, and llover. Included in the download: 1. Skit in Spanish and English, copied 2 per page for student handouts. 2. Skit in Spanish only, copied 2 per page for student handouts. This can be used as a weather translation assignment. 3. Skit in Spanish only in large font that can be projected and used for presenting and practicing vocabulary as a class.
Your students will love this inquiry based web assignment in which they explore the Spanish department store El Corte Ingles. There are 18 questions or tasks for them to complete, including 2 simple sketches of items that they find on one of the web pages. The majority of the questions deal with clothing and accessories, but there are also a couple questions about electronics and currency to add variety to the activity. The website is entirely in Spanish. Students are instructed to supply answers in Spanish and English. This is a fun activity for partner or individual work and is a great way to incorporate technology, culture, and language into a lesson. Students can use computers, iPads, or other devices, and this makes a perfect self paced substitute lesson plan.
Most questions should apply regardless of changes on the Corte Ingles website. Since there could be changes that would change the answers, however, an answer key has not been included.

This worksheet contains the most common present tense irregular verbs, adverbs of frequency, and 17 sentences that include direct object pronouns. The direct object pronoun words are bolded to remind students that there is something special about the words. Sample verbs used are oír, poner, venir, ir, decir, hacer, traer, salir, dar, saber and conocer. Each different verb is grouped together with 5-7 different subjects so students get repetition of the same verb. There is a word bank containing 14 vocabulary words to assist students with their sentence translations. Note that several of the translations are phrases (most notably for the verb poner) to give students the necessary conjugation practice without introducing too many new vocabulary words. This is a great activity for students to work on as a substitute teacher lesson, and also for back to school review for experienced Spanish students. The answer key is included.

Partners quiz each other to see who can get all vocabulary correct and climb "las escaleras", or the stairs. One student has the answer key and the other has the infinitives with subject pronouns. After one makes it to the top of the stairs, students switch parts. The activity contains 35 future tense verb conjugations of the verbs caber, decir, hacer, poder, poner, querer, saber, salir, tener, valer, and venir. The download contains:

French Family and Pets Vocabulary 4 x 4 Matching Squares Puzzle - Students assemble a 4 x 4 French/English vocabulary puzzle with 25 different French family words. Sample words are: maman, père, chien, tante, sœur, jumeau, petits-enfants, demi-frère, chat, fille, and grand-mère. Several words are repeated which makes the puzzle more challenging. Just photocopy enough for a class set (1 for every 2 students if working in pairs, or 1 per student if working alone), cut and fasten with a paper clip. Distribute to students and challenge them to reassemble the puzzles as quickly as possible. There is a list of all words alongside the puzzle in French and English. This can be used as a family and pets vocabulary bookmark and reference.
